Stu explains the factors that convinced international students to choose Australia to study a higher education course.
The survey covers Higher Education, VET, Schools and ELICOS course satisfaction in Australia for 2016.
Below info is specific to Higher Education results.
Survey covers information about arrival procedures, living options, learning and student support experiences in Australia.
In 2016 there were over 47,000 higher education international students that participated in the survey.
Overall satisfaction of these experiences was 89% which was 2 points more than 2 years ago.
Top 8 factors
Top factors that were most satisfying;
- Expertise of lecturers received a score of 93%
- Expertise of academic staff received a score of 91%
- General support services received a score of over 93%
- Campus environment a score of 92%
- Safety satisfaction was 90%
- Quality of research with post-grad students was 91%
- Innovative learning strategies was 90%
- Formal welcome and institution orientation was 88%
Top nationality responding to the higher education survey was China making up 27% of respondents.
There you have it, quality of staff, support, safety, environment and the welcome that you receive plays a huge part in your overall satisfaction when studying in Australia.
Every 2 years
Every 2 years since 2010, Department of Education and Training has funded this survey.
To understand international students needs and satisfaction and why they chose Australia as a destination of study.
